Limescale is a mineral deposit commonly found where water repeatedly evaporates. It often appears around faucets, shower glass and other frequently wet areas. The right approach depends on both the deposit and the surface beneath it.
Locate the buildup
Inspect faucets, glass, shower walls and areas where water collects. Check whether the surface is sensitive to acidic products, coated or made from natural stone.
Choose a surface-compatible solution
Use a product labelled for limescale and for the specific material. Do not assume that every bathroom surface can be treated the same way.
Respect contact time
Apply only as directed. More time or more product does not necessarily improve the result and may affect the surface. Keep the area ventilated and never mix the product with bleach or another cleaner.
Rinse thoroughly
Remove the product according to the label, then dry the surface with a clean cloth. Repeat only if the instructions permit it.
Reduce future deposits
- Dry frequently wet surfaces after use.
- Use a squeegee on compatible shower glass.
- Address drips or standing water.
- Clean light deposits before they become heavy buildup.
Always test first in an inconspicuous area and follow all label precautions.
